This course gives an excellent introduction to the basics, with clear instructions and demonstrations. The course is easy to follow. For a beginner like I am, I feel more confident in participating in face to face training after knowing these basics. Thanks for putting all this knowledge online.

Amazing course like the rest of the courses (Panantukan and Silat) that I took with a variety of drills and concepts from the FMA world.

My point of reference for this review is in person classes with Sakan, and dozens of online classes. This course very nicely covers the Silat basics and drills. The video player is responsive enough that skipping back a few seconds for review does not lag my browser. The audio is clear, with no echo or buzz to impede your understanding. The camera angle is positioned perfectly to capture the footwork. Which is fantastic as I find that to be the most challenging to learn yet rewarding element of Silat. It does feel silly at first to be holding the pad that you’re striking, but once you get over than its much more satisfying than throwing reps into the air. I’ve always struggled with remembering all the steps to the Silat takedowns, being able to review the video from front and side angles really helped my understanding.

I’ve trained in Kali for awhile now and Guro Sakan’s online instruction is very easy to follow and his explanation of the material is very detailed and precise. He is a natural teacher and I am looking forward to more content in the near future!
